A newly created opportunity has arisen for a Senior Financial Accountant to join an expanding Group and lead a small finance team based from their new southern Gold Coast office. Initially the role is a 6 month contract with a view to permanent tenure beyond the contracted term.Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and leading a small team located on the southern end of the Gold Coast, this is a key role managing the reporting and day to day responsibilities of the finance team for an expanding group. This is a hands-on role in a challenging and fast-paced environment and is responsible for ensuring accuracy, reliability and integrity of the company’s financial results and developing and implementing a range of continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.   You role will include: Coordinating, preparing and delivering accurate and timely month end reporting for the group;Responsibility for tax compliance including income tax, monthly BAS and FBT reporting;Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and analysis as required;Contributing to reviewing and improving systems and reporting processes to drive efficiencies;Assisting with ad-hoc reporting, treasury matters and project work as required;Actively partnering with and supporting finance, operations and the wider businessWhat we are seeking:Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce or BusinessCA/CPA QualifiedAt least three years experience in a group functionStrong technical accounting background and understanding of statutory reporting requirementsA background in FMCG or manufacturing /processing businesses would be highly regarded for the roleStrong computer literacy and experience in enterprise level accounting/ERP software and advanced level Excel spreadsheetingLeadership and mentoring skills with the ability to also work effectively in a team as well as fostering change as the business requiresWell-developed communication skills and a personable natureProven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlinesA high attention to detailSelf-motivated approachThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a talented team of professionals in an exciting and expanding organisation.
